Besides deleting files, this lightweight application overwrites the actual information on the disk, to prevent anyone and anything from recovering your files. Dragging and dropping your files over the application's compact user interface and clicking a button is sufficient to shred the data. However, you can also make a few adjustments, by selecting different options in a series of drop-down menus. By default, BlankAndSecure overwrites deleted data once, but you can set it to make up to 35 passes.

Besides targetting data and choosing how many times it should be overwritten, you can also set the application to perform a few additional actions, like closing itself, shutting the PC or switching to Standby mode. Additionally, you can set up a delay timer, of up to nine seconds, so you can have time to change your mind. Once the application is done shredding them, your files will be gone forever.
